Mid Suffolk District Council - Countryside Discovery Project
 
Design and development of education packs and support campaign materials to deliver two new Discovery Projects to Mid Suffolk: The Aggregates Trail and Ponds, Minibeasts & Rivers.
CLIENT PROFILE: Mid Suffolk District Council manage a number of countryside sites in their area. A Discovery Project was funded to provide a new public footpath trail celebrating the wildlife-rich legacy of the aggregates industry. A second Discovery Project aimed to highlight the wildlife in the waterscapes of the Gipping Valley. Both projects have a strong brief in conservation and education. SPECIAL COMMISSIONS: In 2008 Drab was commissioned to design and deliver on site interpretation and promotional campaign materials to support The Aggregates Trail. As well as the general public, the main target audience was the education sector, particularly primary age children, their teachers and other practitioners in the community. The requirements for the Ponds, Minibeasts & Rivers project which followed in 2009 were similar in style and target audience.
 
 
Specific Work Areas included:
Brand development - logo creation
Illustration and mapping - for public and school use
Interpretation materials - exterior panels along the trail (Aggregates Trail only)
Education sector development - conception and design of a practitioner's education pack with worksheets for Key Stage 1 and 2 children; design and print of regular newsletters
Promotional presentation and exhibition materials - design and delivery of set of banner stands to support campaign activity
